Siphuthando Creche
The Goal
Suphuthando Crèche had long been a place of love and learning, but its ageing facilities told a different story. Funded by DG Capital and driven by Community Chest, the mission was clear: completely rebuild the crèche and create a safe, vibrant space where young children could thrive from day one.
Before: A Space That Was Falling Behind
When the team first arrived at Suphuthando Crèche, the environment no longer matched the dedication of its staff or the potential of the children inside. Worn-down walls, damaged flooring, and inadequate facilities made daily learning a challenge. The crèche deserved better, and so did every child walking through its doors.

After: Rebuilt With Purpose
The transformation was total. Fresh classrooms, improved sanitation, safe outdoor spaces, and a welcoming environment now greet every child, teacher, and parent who visits. What was once a concern is now a source of community pride, made possible through the generosity of DG Capital.

Seeing the children walk into their new classroom for the first time, the smiles on their faces said everything. This is exactly why we do what we do.
A Lasting Impact
This rebuild was not just about bricks and paint. It was a commitment, from DG Capital and Community Chest, to every family in this community. A commitment that their children's early years matter, that safe learning environments are a right and not a privilege, and that real change happens when the right people come together for the right reasons.
Every contribution made through Community Chest goes directly to initiatives that uplift, restore, and empower communities across South Africa.
