A Day on the Green for a Greater Good
Some of the best fundraising happens when people are simply having a great time. That is exactly what Bowls Day 2026 was all about.
Community Chest of the Eastern Cape brought together supporters, sponsors, and community members for a fun-filled day on the bowling green, where friendly competition, great food, and genuine connection took centre stage, all in support of the work we do across the Eastern Cape.

More Than Just a Game
From seasoned bowlers to first-timers finding their footing on the mat, the day was alive with energy. Teams came dressed to impress, with pink tutus, bow ties, bunny ears, and bold accessories turning the green into a sea of colour and laughter. Nobody took themselves too seriously, and that was the whole point.
Whether you rolled the perfect bowl or sent it wide into the next rink, everyone was there for the same reason: to give back, have fun, and show up for the community.
Food That Stole the Show
Between ends, guests were treated to a gorgeous spread that kept the energy up all day. Think delicate smoked salmon blinis, golden savoury tarts, and beautifully presented coconut-dusted sweets topped with cream and edible flowers. The catering matched the occasion: generous, celebratory, and very well received.
Giving Back on the Green
Bowls Day is one of the ways Community Chest brings people together beyond the boardroom. Every entry, every donation, and every sponsor at the table contributes directly to the funding of programmes and NGOs that serve vulnerable communities across the Eastern Cape. A day of fun translates into real, tangible impact.
